SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND BY MARSHA BURNS:
I will lead you through these harrowing days with precision. But you must stay spiritually connected to Me and rely on Me to give you the wisdom and direction you need. Remain calm and refuse the temptation to be impulsive. Trust Me.
Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
August 12, 2021. Two years ago today I had the first surgery to remove the cancer on my lower jaw. I had been told I would be out on the lake fishing in a month after the surgery. That did not happen. I have had multiple surgeries and treatments to restore my jaw with bones from my legs. I haven’t eaten by mouth in two years, only through a tube in my stomach. Now I have just been told it will take at least another year for additional treatments and surgeries. These two years have been by far the most personally challenging time of my life.
The Lord says to you and to me. “You have a choice on how you handle the challenges and disappointments of this life. You can choose to live a victorious life that is described time and time again in Scripture or you can allow depression to take the ascendancy which has a level of control that causes misery. Think on Me and My ways. Fill your mind with the good that is always present. Look for ways to love and help others. Live life victoriously.”
Romans 8:37-39 ”No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Bev Robinson
August 12, 2021. Pray before picking up My Word. Let your sole purpose of reading My Word be looking for My truth and not justification of/for certain beliefs and values. Be careful about selecting a verse or Scripture passage out of context in order to prove a point. Sometimes a word is overlooked or your reading stops short of the full meaning of the verse or passage. Consider to whom the Scripture was addressed. Diligently look up Scriptures for yourself, not just what you hear others apply.
2 Timothy 2:15 CEB “Make an effort to present yourself to God as a tried-and-true worker, who doesn’t need to be ashamed but is one who interprets the message of truth correctly.” Kevin Robinson
August 12, 2021. There is no magical secret to living your life in harmony with others. I have made it very clear in Scripture that other people are worthy of honor and respect. Those around you, especially in My family of believers, are important. It becomes very difficult to love others if you do not love yourself. Will you stop and look into My face and see My love for you? Rest in Me and love yourself and others.
Matthew 22:37-39 “And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” Jonas Bohlin
