SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND BY MARSHA BURNS:
Many of you, My people, have been too concerned about what other people think, or about how you think they see you. That has resulted in an attitude of self-consciousness that will keep you from walking in spiritual freedom. You have to let it go. What matters is that you receive direction and correction only from Me, says the Lord. Stay close.
Job 5:17 Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
A WORD ON DISCIPLINE

My Hiding Place
Prov.1:27-33 And whenever a tumult should arrive unto you suddenly and the undoing of yourself like a blast is at hand; or whenever affliction and assault should come upon you; 28 that it will be whenever you should call upon Me, even I shall not listen to you. Evil men shall seek Me and will not find Me; 29 for they detested wisdom and the fear of the LORD they did not prefer; 30 nor wanted to take heed to My counsels; but they sneered at My reproofs. 31 Accordingly they shall eat the fruits of their own way and shall be filled with their own impiety. 32 For because they wronged the simple ones, they shall be slaughtered and an inquisition shall destroy the impious. 33 But the one hearing Me shall encamp with hope and shall be tranquil without fear from all evil.
Heb.12:1-12 1 Accordingly also, we having so great a cloud of witnesses encompassing us, having PUT ASIDE every SWELLING AND ACCESSIBLE SIN, through endurance let us run the struggle being situated before us, looking to Jesus, the head and perfection of the belief, Who, instead of the joy being situated before Him, endured the cross, disdaining the shame and at the right of the throne of God has sat. 3 For consider the cost by the One enduring such dispute against Him by the sinners, that you should not weary, fainting in your souls. 4 Not yet unto blood have you stood firm struggling against sin 5 and you have been totally forgotten of the exhortation, which He reasons to you as to sons, saying, O My son, do not have little regard for the instruction of the Lord, nor be enfeebled being reproved by Him! 6 For whom the Lord loves He corrects and He whips every son whom He welcomes. 7 If you endure discipline, God brings discipline to you as sons; for who is the son whom a father does not correct? 8 And if you are without the help of instruction, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9 So then indeed, of the fathers of our flesh we have correctors and we show respect; shall not we be much more submitted to the Father of the Spirits and we shall live? 10 For they indeed for a few days, as it seemed good to them, corrected; but He does so for the advantage, for us to share in His sanctity. 11 But any discipline by indeed the hand does not seem to be joy, but distress; but afterwards it renders peaceable fruit of righteousness to the ones having been exercised by it. 12 Therefore, the weakened hands and the disabled knees re-erect!
In this passage, it says that since Jesus endured the cross for our sake, likewise, we’re expected to endure for His sake. His rules are found throughout Scripture and especially in the books written by Moses, the Torah (Gen. to Deut.). Jesus summarized them for us in Matt. 22:36-40 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matt.25:1-13 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 For the foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them: 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But He answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.
The Holy Spirit said to notice how ALL the virgins were waiting for the Bridegroom, but only 5 were ready with the Word of God and full of God’s Spirit. The foolish ones had the Word but no Holy Spirit’s fire; no zeal, no real desire for God.
Jam.1:22 But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deluding your own selves.
Jam. 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love Him.
Psa. 94:12 Blessed is the man whom Thou chastenest, O Lord and teaches him out of Thy law.
